Consider Being a NEWNC Election Candidate

Giving up one night a month to become a meaningful voice for the neighborhood is really not too much to ask for.

Becoming a member of the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) affords the opportunity, especially when there are so many issues, developments and endeavors to deal with, and something new occurring frequently.

Serving on the Council affords residents a chance to represent the neighborhood on a first-hand-basis.

It all starts by taking out nomination papers and securing 40 signatures from Ward III, Precincts 1, 2, 3+4, Candidates must be 18 years or older. Deadline is Monday, May 4.

Believe it or not, the community is still growing in more ways than one. It is extremely important to have a publicly elected Council to help pave the way with the betterment of the community in mind.

Think about becoming a candidate to serve on the neighborhood group that cares.

Professional health advice is also apparently another way to help with this medical situation.

A cure for the virus would be the ultimate resolution, however, until then, it is extremely important that people continue to heed the advice being put forth at this time.

Will Virus Hamper Spring Activities?

Spring is here and soon the flowers will be blooming and leaves will fill in the tree branches on The Greenway, Columbus Park, Sliding Park, Cutillo Park, North Square, Paul Revere Mall (Prado) and other sites throughout the neighborhood.

It’s a special time of the year to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends, especially during daylight savings time. However, it appears that this Coronavirus situation will probably keep these terrific public sites empty more often than not.

Hopefully, this dangerous virus is over by then but don’t count on it.

Looks like spring will be a household adventure.
