North End Business Recognized for Educating Children

North End business owner Kristin Van Busum, Founder and CEO of Project Alianza, was honored as a finalist of the Cleary Insurance Boston Business Risk Award, recognizing her success in providing education for children in the rural coffee communities of Latin America.

The award recognizes Boston small business owners, operators and workers who have taken an entrepreneurial risk and reaped the rewards.

The Cleary Insurance Boston Business Risk Awards recognize the Boston-area small business owners, operators and workers who have taken an entrepreneurial risk and reaped the rewards. The purpose of the award is to celebrate and continue to build the Boston business community’s impressive reputation for innovation, disruption and success. Project Alianza, headquartered in Boston’s North End, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to education for children who live in remote coffee-growing communities. By collaborating with corporations, philanthropists and coffee estate farms, Project Alianza builds and develops schools and helps kids break the cycle of poverty.
