NEMPAC 2019 Production of ‘the Little Prince’ Set for June

North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) Opera Project 2019 Production of, ‘The Little Prince’ will take place at Boston Historic Faneuil Hall this June conducted by Tiffany Chang.

‘ The Little Prince’ is a French children’s novel published in 1943. The story reminds audiences of all ages that things that matter in life can only be seen with their hearts and not their eyes.

This season will mark the first time that NEMPAC’s Opera Project has produced an opera by a female composer, Rachel Portman, an Academy Award-winning film score composer for the film Emma in 1996.

This opera will feature young singers from NEMPAC as the ever-present onstage chorus of stars, as well as young treble singers in the lead role of The Little Prince.

NEMPAC new Artistic Director Alexandra Dietrich has selected Rachel Portman’s lush setting of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s ‘The Little Prince.’

Auditions for adult principal roles will be held on Feb. 23 and 24.

Additions for child treble roles, ages 8-14, unchanged voice, will be held on March 10. For dates and times contact NEMPAC Event Manager Sarah Vandewalle at 617-227-2270 or [email protected].
