Multiple Arrests Reported at November Public Safety Meeting

Boston Police District A-1 provided an update on recent neighborhood crime incidents, summarized below, at the November 2017 North End Public Safety Meeting.

Arrests

-Vandalism / Trespassing: 10/8/17 @ 10:37pm @ 232 Hanover St.: Four males from Winchester, MA were arrested after arriving at a residence where they believed a house party was taking place. They had kicked open a door to get onto a rooftop while police gave chase.

-Assault & Battery / Operating Vehicle Under Influence: 10/17/17 @ 6:15pm @ 246 Hanover St.: Woman waited for her ex-boyfriend at Coogan’s Bar.  She left the bar with him out of fear, returning to Hanover St., after which he hit her. Suspect was also charged with drunk driving.

-Operating Vehicle Under Influence: 10/22/17 @ 6:50pm @ 224 Hanover St.: Suspect was arrested for an OUI.  A bottle of booze was found in the car’s console and suspect had urinated on himself.

Robbery

-10/10/17 @ 3:17am at park near the N. Washington Street bridge, victim reports two white males approached him and asked him to empty his pockets, after which they stole his vape.

Aggravated Assault

-10/24/17 @ 2:30pm at 159 Salem St.: Victim reports he was approached at Commercial St. and Lewis St. by an unknown white male after leaving his office.  At this time the suspect attempted to assault the victim, who shielded his advances with his suitcase.  Suspect walked away, yet the victim followed him.  A short distance away, after the victim ran after the suspect, said suspect brandished a knife before fleeing.  Detectives to follow-up on the incident.

Break-in, Residence

-10/21/17 between 2:20pm & 8:20pm at 8 Foster St.: Victim returned to his apartment to find the screen to his bathroom window had been cut and removed. Items stolen included a bike, belt buckle, cuff links and electronic devices.

Auto Theft

-Between 10/21/17 & 10/24/17 at 185 Fulton St.: Stolen motorcycle.

Larcenies

-10/9/17 at Hanover St. Fire Station between 3:00am & 6:00am: The donation boot in front of the firehouse was stolen overnight by an unknown person.  The Fire Marine Unit later located the boot behind Battery Wharf. [See Firefighters Charity Boot Stolen on Hanover Street in North End]

-10/15/17 between 10:35am & 1:27pm at 100 Salem St. (New Spin Laundromat): Victim reports an unknown male suspect removed her laundry from the Salem St. laundromat. The laundromat has video of the suspect leaving with the victim’s laundry.

Larceny from Motor Vehicles

-10/20/17 @ 11:20pm at 133 Fulton St.: While a car was double-parked–with the door left wide-open–a laptop and two sets of golf clubs were stolen from the car.

-10/24/17 between 3:00am & 3:30am at 25-26 Stillman St.: Victim reports 2013 Subaru Forester was parked on Stillman St.  An unknown person broke the rear passenger car window and stole a bag containing a lego set and sleeping bag, as well as a tire compressor.

-10/24/17 between 3:00am & 3:30am at 25-26 Stillman St.: Victim’s 2013 BMW X3’s front window was found broken.  Items removed from the car included a backpack, laptop, iPad, sunglasses, headphones, medical equipment and miscellaneous supplies.
