A crackdown on rave shows like the recent one at the TD Garden appears to be on the minds on the Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Councilor Sal LaMattina and Tito Jackson.
The Swedish DJ Avil attracted thousands of fans which apparently sent 36 intoxicated concertgoers to the hospital with several arrests being made.
Elected officials want to take a closer look at these consonants as well as the activities that take place at these events that put people in danger.
The Mayor has apparently looked into the possibility of the banning these events. “That’s something I’d want to have a serious conversation about,” he told the Herald.
Councilor LaMattina, whose district (North End) abuts the TD Garden area and draws a lot of concert pedestrian and vehicle traffic said, “The city should definitely have a conversation about what’s going on and how we can prevent those kids from drinking and taking drugs.”
Several reports claim that minors were among the alcohol and drug users.
TD Garden’s manager was slapped with a citation from Boston Police for numerous intoxicated under age patrons observed inside the premises, a police report indicated.
