NEWRA ZLC Addresses construction Proposal
Abdo Knalil of View Contracting, representative/builder appeared before the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) Zoning Licensing Committee meeting on June 30 held at the Mariners House, 11 North Square to propose new construction at 3 Thatcher Court.
Plans call for a one-family house with an in-law unit on the first floor.
Project requires zoning relief for flood hazard districts and GCOD applicability, as identified in the ISD refusal letter.
NEAA Dodgers traveling teams playing in the Lou Tomkins League
Two North End Athletic Association (NEAA) traveling teams (Dodgers) have been entered in the Lou Tomkins All Star Baseball League.
The 13 and under and the 15 and under teams will play 17 games this season. Home games at Puopolo Park with away games played at parks located around the suburbs of Boston.
NEAA Sports Coordinator John Romano encourages North End residents to head to Puopolo Park to support the local teams.

NEAA All Stars play Charlestown All Stars
At the conclusion of the 2026 North End Athletic Association’s baseball season, two NEAA All Star teams competed against teams from the Charlestown Little League All Star team at Puopolo Park.
The NEAA 9–10-year-old team won their game 8-3. Will McGovern was the MVP.
The NEAA 11–12-year-old team lost their game 14-3. Cal Perry was the MVP.
All the All Stars, selected by coaches, received medals recognizing them for being on the team.
Midnight Ride Mural featured at Dewey Square
The Greenway Conservancy hosted a free celebration for Rixy’s new mural “The Midnight Ride” now featured at Dewey Square.
The event included Music, food trucks and performances for everyone to enjoy.
Newly completed, the mural is the work of Boston born artist Rixy.
Ye Olde Pepper Candy Company opens at Old North site
America’s oldest Candy Company, Ye Olde Pepper Candy Company, founded in Salem, MA in 1806, launched Boston Pop Up with limited edition American 250 sweets,
The shop is located at the 1715 Clough House at the Old North Church Historic site in the North End.
Ye Olde is the only candy shop in the North End.
FOCCP 25th Anniversary Cruise Tuesday, July 28
Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) will celebrate its 25th Silver Anniversary by setting sail aboard the Seaport Elite Yacht on Tuesday, July 28 at 5pm, departing at 6pm and returning at 8:30pm.

Celebrating America’s 250th contributions to art, science, service commerce will take place at the Armenian Heritage Park on Thursday, July 9 at 7:30pm on the Greenway.
Trumpeter Victor Brogna will perform patriotic songs. Blinky lights will be provided as well as a birthday cake and festive drink.
Jurassic Journey at N.E. Library
A Jurassic Journey with caravan puppets providing a fact filled, action packed, time traveling Rock musical adventure was held at the North End Library.
The puppets played by Prof. Diggins journey to the Jurassic period featuring rocking original music and dino puppets galore.
