Special to the Regional Review
At the heart of NEW Health is something truly special: our staff. Our physicians, nurses, counselors, and support teams show up every day with skill, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the people they serve. They don’t just provide care – they build trust, offer dignity, and treat every patient with respect.
“As a member of the board, I feel incredibly honored to be part of this milestone. I am most proud of our staff and the work they do every day to bring high-quality healthcare to our community. They are phenomenal! They are dedicated, compassionate, talented, and are deeply committed to partnering with patients and their families to empower them in making their healthcare decisions.” Said Marilyn Stempler, a 20-year board member.
“One of the programs closest to my heart is the food access program which directly targets the most undeserved in our community. Last year it provided 400 bags of shelf-stable foods given to patients, 1,500 bags of produce distributed, 200 Thanksgiving meals given out, and over $22,000 given in grocery store gift cards. We also have a community refrigerator and community garden at our Charlestown location. Fresh produce is provided to patients through the fridge,” she added.
For over five decades, we’ve helped thousands of families in Boston’s North End, Waterfront and Charlestown neighborhoods. But we can’t do it without your help. Thank you for being part of this important work and for helping us build a healthier future for our community.
In honor of the anniversary, we launched the “55 for 55” campaign to help us better support our staff and expand our programs. Our goal is to raise $5,500 by the end of the month. I invite you to make a special 55th-anniversary gift – a gift of $5, $55, or $550 will help us launch the next 55 years. And if you make a leadership donation of $500 or more you will be welcomed into our Community Care Society.
