Italian restaurants, religious feasts and the historic Freedom Trail are traditionally the subject when talking about Boston’s North End.
However, for the most part, there is no real talk about the long history, culture and the many happenings that have occurred in the neighborhood over the past 400 years.
Soon that will change with the opening of a North End Museum by the North End Historical Society (NEHS) that has come to an end of a long mission that has come to a reality.
Opening on Little Prince Street, the museum will recognize and present the story of a community that has much more history and culture than what is expressed.
Located a stone’s throw away from the Paul Revere’s House in North Square on the Freedom Trail, the museum will offer a great opportunity to explore many years of community endeavors, history and culture that will finally come to life following a vigorous mission by NEHS,
The long-awaited museum became a reality and a dream come true for NEHS when North End residents and businessman Frank DePasquale of DePasquale Adventures purchased first floor space on Prince Street, a major event for the start of the museum, that will provide a unique place to present the heritage and culture of the North End.
In addition, through the efforts of State Representative Aaron Michlewitz, Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, a substantial grant was secured for the museum.
