NEAA Flag Football a huge success

The Friday Night Under the Lights North End Athletic Association (NEAA) boys and girls flag football program has “significantly grown from last season” according to Sports Director John Romano.

“This year the program has expanded into two divisions, the Gold and Silver, with close to 100 youth participating this season,” he added.

All volunteer coaches and volunteer teenage referees help run the successful program.

The NEAA has also joined the National Football League’s Flag Football program this season.

“This will give the NEAA and all the flag football players an opportunity to play in a tournament after the season ends,” Romano said. “It also allows our players to compete with other youth across the state.”

Running a program of this size requires significant efforts by a lot of people, like Commissioner Brian Trojan and his wife Kathleen who put in the time and effort to make this program work for the youth and families every Friday night.

The program also has a working collaboration with Boston Police Area A-1 Community Service Group and Officer Frank Ciampa who is a coach as well as Jace Peeples the Athletic Director at the Nazzaro Community Center.

“This type of collaboration is what makes a successful program,” Romano added. “The NEAA is extremely grateful to all the agencies and volunteers who make this program work for our community every week.”
