NSC Assists Casa Maria Flood Victims

Casa Maria Apartments in the North End experienced not one, but two floods in the building, apparently caused by frozen pipes bursting affecting 40 residents.

The ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NSC), following the emergency stepped up to the plate, visiting the apartments bringing food for the families affected by the flooding.

NSC staff delivered 11 bags filled to the top with canned goods and other non-perishable items from the North End Food Pantry. The Pantry is stocked with products donated by the community.

An insulated bag full of frozen meat, vegetables, soup and multiple packages of bread were delivered as well.

Those affected or displaced expressed their gratitude and thanks that the NSC was there at this difficult time in their lives.

“The smallest gesture of love and caring along with donations of food can make the biggest impact on people’s lives,” said Maria Stella Gulla, NSC Director. “We wanted to assist our neighbors.”
