Haymarket Hotel Moves Forward

Plans for the Haymarket Hotel (Parcel 9) have been approved with a minor height addition by the Boston Planning and Development agency, formerly the BRA.

Plans call for 225 hotel units, patio, open space, and new street-front landscaping.

Approximately 125 permanent jobs will be created and 300 construction jobs.

The hotel will include 9,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space rooftop amenities, revitalized Blackstone Street and support the Haymarket Pushcart Association.

Located on a 29,400 square feet parcel along The Greenway also received a modest increase in the maximum height of the building, from 65 feet to a maximum of 69 feet, 6 inches tall to achieve acceptable floor-to-ceiling heights within the building.

The Pushcart Association will lease space to accommodate storage and restrooms for their members.

The project will also provide $20,000 to community benefits but no direct funding to North End groups or organizations.
