Michael DeMarco

Member of Club 24 of Malden

Michael G. DeMarco, a 20-year resident of Revere, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on November 14 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere following a long illness. He was 78 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he lived there for most of his life before coming to Revere 20 years ago. He attended Boston schools and entered the US Army in June of 1956 serving until May of 1958 during the Cold War. “Mike” worked as a printer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than 25 years and concurrently, as a long time employee, (bartender) for La Cantina Italiana Restaurant on Hanover Street in Boston where he made many friends over the years.

Michael was also a proud recipient of the “Thirty Year Award” for sobriety rendered by Club 24 of Malden. And, for the past 30 years, he has been a most active member of the club who always made himself available to aid and counsel brothers in need regardless of the time of day.

He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Adamakos) DeMarco who passed in June of 1995; the cherished father of Margarita M. Keith and her husband, Anthony ‘Andy’ and the devoted grandfather of Jackson A. and Marco J. Keith, all of Jericho, Vermont; the dear brother of Corinne Mustacchio and her husband, Jack of Somerville, Rosemarie “RoRo” DeMarco-Galvin and her husband retired RPD Matthew J. Galvin of Revere and the late Anthony, Albert, Alphonse, John ‘Jackie’ and LuLu DeMarco. “Mike” is also lovingly survived by his companion, Susan Eccleston of Everett and by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was also the son of the late Albert and Rose (Reppucci) DeMarco.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
