Tall Ships Returning to Boston in 2017

Boston Harbor and 2017 will be reportedly visited by more than 50 Tall Ships from 28 countries for a free five-day extravaganza. More people than ever before will be able to view the ships up-close and personal, according to the organizers and conventurers operators of Sail Boston.

Apparently, the return of the Tall Ships will have a significant economic impact in its own right, city officials claim.

“In 2000, the Tall Ships attracted close to 7 million people who spent as much as $120 million in the City,” Boston Mayor Walsh has stated.

Reportedly, Boston will be the only US port the ships will visit this time around with the viewing areas being expanded to several additional venues.

“Hosting the Tall Ships is a showcase for Boston’s role as a international destination,” the Mayor was quoted as saying.
