NEWNC members view plans for a 5-story building on Salem Street.
Now that the developer of the vacant lot at 124-126 Salem Street, Collin Yip has made most of the changes requested by residents at several public meetings, it appears that construction of a five-story building on the property will become a reality.
The structure will contain residential units and retail space on the first floor. There will be no parking and the developer has accommodated requests for some design changes.
Three head houses will be placed on the roof with no sight line from the street or adjacent buildings. Three private roof decks will also be constructed. The proposal received no opposition from abutters.
Both neighborhood groups, NEWRA and NEWNC support the proposal construction in the vacant lot, currently being used for parking.
