Saturday, September 1 was a busier than usual day in the North End, as hundreds of college students began moving in.
Some of the streets were crowded with U-Haul, Hertz and other types of vehicles, but the movement did not create any major disturbances as in the past.
North End residents could be seen talking to and greeting their new neighbors.
Nicole Leo, Coordinator for the Mayor’s Neighborhood Services, and other city employees were out on the streets handing out a Student Guide City Services brochure which offers tips for new Boston residents.
Some of the information deals with safety, housing, transportation, parking, trash and recycling.
The brochure also encourages new residents to register to vote.
