An appeal for zoning relief to change the legal occupancy at 7 Baldwin Place has been filed by Anthony Bova to the City of Boston Board of Appeal with a scheduled hearing on Tuesday, August 7.
The applicant seeks to change the property from five residential apartments to six residential apartments, adding a one-story addition to the building.
The project was presented by the owner and his Attorney Daniel Toscano at the May 29 NEWRA monthly Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee meeting.
Two concerns were raised by the committee requesting resolution and additional information regarding a refusal letter, to the Inspectional Service Department, indicating a violation of the 55 foot height limit imposed in the North End. Apparently the owner intends to construct no higher than 55 feet.
Light and air impacts to abutting properties were raised by the committee and at least one abutter.
Reportedly the owner has agreed to address these issues with ISD and neighbors and report back to the committee.
NEWRA will schedule the request to be voted on at the organization monthly meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 12 at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center.
The request will most likely be scheduled for the NEWNC monthly meeting scheduled for Monday, July 9 at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center.
