North End Against Drugs has received a Boston Foundation Grant of $7,500 as part of the My Summer in the City Funding Initiative to collaborate with R.O.C. to show a Family Movie Night at DeFilippo Playground (Gassy).
In addition NEAD will team up with North End Music and Performing Arts Center to conduct three other free family nights in the Paul Revere Mall (Prado) on Hanover Streets.
“NEAD is extremely grateful to Robert Lewis, Jr. VP of Programming and the Boston Foundation for this fabulous opportunity to provide some amazing free activities for North End/Waterfront families and our friends from other parts of the City,” NEAD President John Romano said.
“NEAD will be using about one-third of the grant to help fund North End Family Pride Week,” Romano said. “Without the help of the Foundation, NEAD would need to significantly reduce the Pride Week schedule of activities,” Romano added.
“Mr. Lewis is a tremendous individual who understands the importance of providing programs for the youth and families of various neighborhoods in Boston,” Romano said.
“This is the second year in a row NEAD has been a part of the My Summer in the City Initiative,” Romano added.
