During its last monthly community meeting for 2016 held in the Nazzaro Community Center     the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) agenda included a request for an additional story to a three-story building, a change of occupancy to install a seven-foot chimney, and a Municipal Harbor Plan proposed by the BRA/BPDA.
NEWRA voted 30-2 to support a request by Risa Realty Trust (Rita and Lisa Dipietrantonio) to add a fourth story to an existing three-story structure and basement single-family located at 8 Cooper Street.
The addition will provide one master bedroom and full bath and a private roof deck. One of the owners intends to live in the building. They were represented by Attorney Daniel Toscano.
A request by Alpine Advisory Services, for Verizon Wireless, a prospective lessee, at 406-418 Commercial Street to change the occupancy to install a 7-foot fiberglass, four wireless telecommunications antennas, two GPS antennas and remote radio heads, together with related equipment including a roof platform, two equipment cabinets and cable runs was supported 20-10 by the Association.
NEWRA also discussed the Municipal Harbor Plan proposed by the BRA/BPDA that covers the area of the Waterfront boarded by Christopher Columbus Park on the north (Lawn Walk) and the Evelyn Moakley Bridge on the south (Hooks Lobster Company site).
