A new exhibit featuring a giant Anteater named “Jockamo” a one-year-old will open at the Franklin Park Zoo starting Saturday, April 2 inside the Tropical Forest.
Giant anteaters are the largest known species of anteater reaching between 6-8 feet in length and weighing between 60-140 pounds.
Anteaters have no teeth and use their two-foot-long tongue to catch and swallow ants and termites. They consume about 30,000 insects a day.
Visitors will be amazed by this animal’s incredible adaptations and its distinct appearance.
The giant anteater exhibit is a perfect fit for the Tropical Forest.
