The Tobin Bridge northbound lane has been closed for a rehabilitation project that could impact traffic for some time, possibly two-years when the southbound lane needs to be close.
Both the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the MBTA provided the information at a press conference held at the State Transportation Building regarding the closure which has already been implemented and associated with the Tobin Bridge/Chelsea Curves Rehabilitation project.
These lane closures will create congestion and travel times along Route 1 northbound and will be in place for two-years.
MassDOT has encouraged travelers to make informed decisions during this project in order to reach designations in a timely and efficient manner.
Eventually the southbound lane of the bridge will also be closed for the rehabilitation project.
