Jean Abrams Roberts

Of Belmont, formerly of Boston

Jean Abrams Roberts of Belmont, formerly of Boston, died on December 30 after a long illness. She was 91 years old.

She was born in Bradford, PA in 1919 and graduated from Skidmore College in 1940 with an English major. She subsequently moved to Boston, where she met and in 1943 married Boston attorney George W. Roberts.

Professionally, she served as an editor at the Massachusetts Dept. of Mental Health and at the New England Aquarium, where she also directed the volunteer program.  A former member of the corporation of the Church of the Advent on Beacon Hill, she also volunteered at the College Club of Boston, where she served as president, and at the USS Constitution Museum.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan R. Boyle of Boston, a son, Thomas A. Roberts of Albany, California, and two grandsons, Jason Roberts of Berkeley, CA and Colin Boyle of Boston.

A memorial service was held at the Old North Church, Boston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Arrangements were by Boston Harborside Home, J.S. Waterman & Sons-Waring-Langone 617-536-4110

Rose Marino

North End resident

Rose M. (DiFilippo) Marino of Boston’s North End died on January 15. She was 85 years old.

She was the loving wife of the late Anthony Marino; cherished mother of Joan DeLeo and her late husband, Alfred, Anthony Marino, and Maryann Marino; beloved grandmother of Alfred DeLeo Jr. and his wife, Lori, Michael DeLeo and his wife, Michelle, and Michele Amaral and her husband, Joseph, and great grandmother of seven; loving sister of the late John and Anthony DiFilippo and is also survived by a sister-in-law, Christine DiFilippo.

Gregg Iezza

East Boston resident

Gregg T. Iezza of East Boston, formerly of Long Island, New York, died suddenly on January 5. He was 49 years old.

The husband of Julia C (Sanchez) Iezza, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Jean (Turco) Iezza, brother of Scott Iezza of Florida and is also survived by many friends in the Boston Area.
