Greenway Activities Past,Present and Future

The Greenway recently became a runway as designer Denise Hajjar displayed creations from her Atlantic Avenue Boutique.

The fashion show accentuated the natural beauty of the park with music and dancing. A raffle drawing was also held.

All the proceeds from the fashion show benefited the Greenway’s Park Arranger Program, which supports two Ranges that act as The Greenway’s ambassadors.

A new radio public art installation by artist Halsey Burgund will be on display between High and Oliver Streets adjacent to the Boston Harbor Hotel and International Place.

From the Mouths of Monkeys is a series of recorded conversations with people born in different years of the monkey zodiac animal combined with musical scores to better express personal beliefs and unique experiences.

Inner City Weightlifting will be holding free classes every Wednesday at 5:30pm until the end of August. Additionally, there are many other fitness classes planned on The Greenway.

The final Berklee Summer Concerts are coming to an end. Performances are held on Fridays at 5pm on the Greenway’s North End Park.

A remembrance of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy’s 126th Birthday was recognized on The Greenway a few weeks ago. Rose is credited as having been deeply rooted in her family, her community and numerous philantropic efforts.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon invaded The Greenway. Universal Studios 1954 horror classic monster thrilled and chilled many visitors.

A scavenger hunt was held in appreciation of the community’s support for visitation to the park. Prizes were presented to the winners.

            An African Festival featured an impressive collection of performers, vendors and games. The festival brought even more cultural appreciation and understanding to the community.
