Community Asked to Participate in Neighborhood Slow Street Program

Residents have a great opportunity to get directly involved with helping the City of Boston decrease street driving limits from 30 to 20 mph in their community by submitting an application to work in and with the Boston Transportation Department on its new Neighborhood Slow Streets Program.

Community-based organizations, showing strong support can apply to participate in the program with BPD to plan projects that meet specific needs of their community that will slow down drivers to 20 mph in their neighborhood as the new city ordinance requires.

This is a program designed to increase public safety and residents should jump on board and make suggestions pertaining to their individual needs to slow down drivers passing on local streets.
