Mayor’s Coffee Hour at Columbus Park

By Phil Orlandella

North End/Waterfront residents will have an opportunity to rub elbows with Boston Mayor Martin Walsh on Wednesday, June 8 at Christopher Columbus Park on Atlantic Avenue from 9:30-10:30am. This is a rain or shine event.

Hosted by Boston Parks and Recreation Department along with the 18th annual coffee hour series will provide a great opportunity to speak directly with the Mayor and other city officials about needs in their community.

Residents will also have the opportunity to express opinions through a suggestion box that will be placed in the park that will provide the city insight on how to improve city services.

The usually well attended coffee hour will have information on site relating to city programs from the Boston Public Library, Boston Public Schools, Boston Police Department and Boston Centers for Youth and Families.

The Mayor encourages everyone to attend and participate in the event and to enjoy the park.

All participants will enjoy coffee and breakfast provided by Dunkin’ Donuts and fresh fruit from Whole Foods Market. In addition, each family in attendance will receive a flowering plant grown in the city’s greenhouses as a gift from the Mayor. Residents at the event will also be eligible to win a raffle prize from Dunkin’ Donuts.
