The two Saint Leonard Knights basketball teams (girls 3rd and 4th grade) and (boys 7th and 8th grade) have captured the CYO/BCA Basketball League’s 2024 championships.
Aime Coen, Chris Pizzetti and Ben Locker and Marlena Crandell coached the girls team.
Luigi Natale, Jake Leo and John Sicuso coached the boys team.
The girls played steady basketball throughout the regular season and went on to capture the league championship.
The male Knights had a tough early start posting a 2-10 record, but picked up the final (12th) playoff seed and unexpectedly went on to win the league championship.
They pulled off the playoffs biggest surprise knocking out the number 1 team and went on to capture the semi-finals and championship round.
