North Square Public Art update

Many different technologies and skills are being used to make the sculptures for North Square according to A + J + Design, the firm selected to develop the public art project in North Square.

Reportedly, the sculptures for the Square will be made from the oldest-carving and clay modeling, to the newest CNC milling to make contemporary scrimshaw.

The little sundial for the base of the nautical instrument sculpture actually works. The dial will show solar time at the Square and is calibrated to the latitude of the Square which is 42 degrees three minutes North.

It will probably be fairly rare to see it work given the shadows cast by buildings around the Square, so it will be all the more special, the design firm noted.

It’s fast paced and a totally immersive experience with music, blue lights, rowing, weights and the energy that will apparently achieve positive results, creating powerful souls, bodies, relationships and more.

Besides a world-class workout, Row Republic plans to build relationships and support their neighbors outside the studio as well.
