Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the Boston Parks Department will host the 15th annual neighborhood Coffee Hour in the North End on Wednesday, May 15 from 9:30-10:30am in Christopher Columbus Park.
The popular coffee hour provides residents a unique opportunity to speak directly to the Mayor about open space and other needs in the neighborhood.
Through these one-on-one discussions and a suggestion box at the site, the city will be advised of what needs to be done to improve local parks, public areas and services.
This year’s coffee hour in the North End will be the last by Mayor Menino who will not be seeking re-election following five terms, 20 years in office.
Coffee and breakfast treats will be provided by Dunkin’ Donuts and fresh fruit from Whole Foods Market.
The Mayor will present each family in attendance a flowering plant grown in the city’s green houses as a gift.
Residents at the event will be eligible to win a raffle prize package including a Dunkin’ Donuts gift basket.
