Greenway News and Notes

As usual, the Greenway Conservancy has scheduled numerous events, activities and programs for the general public to enjoy individually or with friends and families.

The Greenway has put together many things to do including celebrations through July.

Get a taste of different cultures at Brazil on The Greenway, My Caribbean Expo and the African Festival.

Horticulture tours and demonstrations on Friday, July 28 from 12-1 PM with Greenway staff along the parks to learn about unique plans that called the Greenway home. Learn more about techniques used to care for plants.

Berklee summer concerts have returned to The Greenway and will run through August every Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the North End Park. Talented groups of student musicians will perform in a wide range of musical styles.

Downtown PLAY has begun on The Greenway on selected Saturdays head downtown to participate in various crafts, performances, lessons and physical activities. On the last Saturday of each month through October (excluding August) from 1-3 p.m., join A-VOYCE volunteers at Saturplay in the Chinatown Park.

The Greenway and the Boston Children’s Musing have formed a special partnership this summer.

Admission to the museum will enable patrons to ride The Greenway Carousel at a discounted rate of four rides for $10 and while taking a spin on the carousel, a special discount offer tickets to the museum is also available.

Free tangle instruction and dance have returned to The Greenway weekly on Saturdays, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Swing by for an introductory tangle lesson, a tango showcase, and a Milonga atmosphere to practice your moves.

Matthew Hoffman’s I-connection actual peace, May This Never And, has garnered a fourth public art award for The Greenway in just five years. The prestigious annual award from Americans for the Arts’ Public Art Network praises Hoffman’s work is one of the top pieces in the country in 2016.
