Taste of the North End at Steriti Rink on May 1

Boston’s popular festivals of food, charity and rich history of the neighborhood, “The Taste of the North End” will take place on Friday, May 1 at the Steriti Memorial Rink on Commercial Street from 7 to11pm.

This is the fifth year that North End Waterfront Health has participated with the Frattaroli family to host the event which is celebrating its 22nd anniversary of the fundraising activity.

Last year over $100,000 was raised and since its inception over $600,000 has been secured for multiple non-profit organizations in the North End including the elderly, education, health programs and recreational programs.

Co-chairs for the special benefit event will be event founder Donato Frattaroli, owner of Lucia Ristorante, and James Luisi, CEO of the North End Waterfront Health.

Master of Ceremonies is NESN’s “The Dining Playbook” personality Jenny Johnson.

Participants will be able to sample from more than 35 popular North End eateries showcasing a wide array of appetizers, cheeses, entrées, desserts and enjoy  beer and wine from area distributors.

A high-end silent auction with hotel and restaurant packages, Boston sports tickets and memorabilia will be held. A live band will perform throughout the evening.

The event was founded in 1993 to benefit Casa Monte Casino where families from around the world are provided a place to stay while their children receive serious medical attention in Boston.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 617-643-8105 or at tothe.brownpapertickets.com.
