Responsible Urbanites For Fido (RUFF) has lined up a great dog trainer, Janet Vera, to do some sessions with the neighborhood group, according to President Leslie Horn.
Vera is a professional dog trainer and canine behavioral specialist currently working with some North End dog owners.
“RUFF hopes Janet will become a great addition to our educational mission,†Horn said.
The neighborhood group has scheduled the first session with Janet Vera on Tuesday, May 20 at the Richmond Street dog run at 6 PM. (Rain date May 21)
The session will focus on a reliable recall and working to be in control of your dog while at a dog park, in an off-leash play environment.
“This is a great opportunity for dog owners to take advantage of,†Horn noted. “All North End dog owners are welcome to attend.â€
RUFF is a nonprofit community volunteer group that is attempting to educate dog owners of their duties and responsibilities as North End residents.
The neighborhood group also organizes cleanup projects throughout the community, conducts monthly meetings, coordinates educational programs, addresses the general public on how to work with the community to keep the area clear of dog debris and posts related information in playgrounds and parks.
