NEWRA Calls for BRA Project Review

The Design Review Manager for the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) has not responded to a phone message left for him more than a month ago by the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA), according to NEWRA Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee co-chair David Kubiak.

“There is still no news from the BRA, the Mayor’s Office or the developer on the status of design and city design review of a six-story, 55 foot high building proposed to be constructed in the Hanover Street parcel, formerly the site of VFN Post # 144,” Kubiak noted.

The project will be built on Hanover Street between LaFamiglia Spagnuolo Restaurant and Ristorante Fiore.

When presented with exterior plans, NEWRA members were not pleased with the design and asked the developer to go back to the drawing board and develop something more fitting to the community.
