A Look Back

During the 50s, 60s and 70s the West End was a vibrant neighborhood full of businesses and many residents. The community had a unique life style of its own with playgrounds, parks, social agencies and pride.
That all changed with development and the clock cannot be turned back, but the West End was preserved
with photos that bring back memories.
Photos by Jules Aarons of Photographs of Boston have depicted some of the moments in time in the West End. Photos that are now a collection of the Boston Public Library entitled “Into the Streets 1947-1976”
