Crime flattens out in North End

In addition to announcing that the alleged North End Church bandit was apprehended, after being caught on video tape. Area A-1 Commanding Officer Captain Bernard O’Rourke told residents at a public safety meeting that crime in the area has increased slightly on a year to date basis.

He also noted that over the last 30 days crime numbers are flat with no major incidents to speak of.

Larceny of motor vehicles topped the chart with eleven.

Two people were arrested and two others sighted regarding loud parties and public drinking.

One attempted break in occurred at 146 Prince Street while three other break ins took place at 125 Fulton Street, 84 Prince Street and 24 Cooper Street.

Police handed out 101 moving violations and 221 parking tickets.

No homicides or sexual assaults took place during the 30 day period.

During the Thanksgiving holiday period, working through the Nazzaro Community Center, Area A-1 Boston Police provided a complete turkey dinner for two North End families. They plan to do the same this Christmas.

Sergeant Tom Lema and Officer Ted Boyle also attended the monthly meeting held at the Nazzaro Community Center.

The next Public Safety meeting will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 6:30pm.
