Public Tax Payment Extended to June 4

Payment of property tax bills in Boston have been extended until June 4, providing residents with more flexibility during the ongoing public health crisis, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh announced.

Property tax bills were previously due on May 1.

The City is also wavering interest on late property taxes and motor vehicle excise tax payments until June 30, if the bill was due after March 10.

Residents facing a late fine for not paying their excise bill on time have a grace period of late fees until June 30.

“Providing residents with more flexibility and options during these difficult times is crucial,” Mayor Martin Walsh said. He encourages all residents to access the resources the City has available.
