NEAA Enters Two Teams In The Mayor’s Cup

Two North End Athletic Association (NEAA) baseball teams have been entered into the Mayor’s Cup baseball tournament which will be held in July.

A 10 and under and a 12 and under team will compete in the citywide classic that draws teams from neighborhoods throughout Boston.

Both teams will be practicing in early July before playing in the tournament starting on July 21 with the second game on July 22 on the road.

If the teams advance, they will play on July 28 and July 29.

Jon Lawson will coach the 12 and under team with Kevin O’Sullivan coaching the 10 and under team.

“Entering NEAA baseball teams in tournaments provides more experience for our players who are always excited to participate in these and other tournaments once our league is over,” Baseball Commissioner Ralph Martignetti said.

Before the Mayor’s Cup, the 12 and under team participated in the North2South Classic hosted by Representative Aaron Michlewitz.

The 11-12 year old Mayor’s Cup team is, Richard Wells, Joseph Brienze, Ryan McHugh, Gunnar Larson, Desmond O’Hearn, Matthew Griffin, Max Howard, Alex Puopolo, Adam Whitney, Thomas Blake, Michael Murphy, Max Haskell and Tamerat Edelstein-Rosenberg.
