NEWNC Opposes Beer and Wine License

Besides the usual committee reports, the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) voted on two requests. Two guest speakers address the North Square Redesign project and the signage project along the Harbor Walk.

Council members voted to deny a request by Scire Fruit, Go Bananas, 64 Salem Street for a new malt and wine package store licenses, NEWNC President John Pregmon told the Review.

Fiumara Realty Trust (owner Chris Fiumara) seeks a request to erect a 2-story addition at 38 Fleet Street and to change the legal occupancy of the building to a five-family dwelling, was supported by the Council according to NEWNC President John Pregmon.

An update on the Redesign of North Square was presented by Ann Hirsch and Jeremy Angier, A&J Art and Design.

The North Square Public Project was the topic of discussion at the March monthly meeting of the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) meeting. Designers presented different concepts and I asked for additional feedback on development of the historic district that includes Paul Revere’s House.

Jan Engleman and Liz Nelson Weaver of Friends of the Boston HarborWalk spoke about HarborWalk signage.

NEWNC’s next monthly meeting will be held on Monday, April 9 at 7 PM in the Nazzaro Community Center.
