Boston Seniority Magazine Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Boston Seniority magazine, a free city publication, has celebrated its 40th anniversary of informing and engaging older adults in Boston.

Current issue.

Published 10 times a year, since 1977, the magazine has a circulation of 15,000 copies and it is distributed to more than 300 sites across the city, including libraries, elderly housing complexes and grocery stores.

The magazine features contents that include important resources and ways to access benefits, lifestyle and health tips, and featured articles about older adults.

“For four decades, Boston Seniority magazine has helped us tell the stories that make our city so special,” said Mayor Martin Walsh. “It has connected and celebrated the people who know the city better than anyone: Boston’s seniors.”

Hundreds of vintage copies of the magazine are safely stored and preserved in the city archives.

To learn more about the magazine, call 617-635-2360 or email BostonSeniority@boston.gov.

The Mayor and the Commissioner on Affairs of the Elderly celebrated the occasion with many readers of the 40-year-old magazine.
