While no one was selected to compete in “Dancing of the Starsâ€, North End Against Drugs (NEAD) still held a successful Back to School Dance Party in Polcari Playground adjacent to the Nazzaro Community Center.
“The playground was filled with students from the neighborhood, their parents and of course the Eliot and St. John schools,†NEAD President John Romano said.
NEAD Board members organized the fun filled event that featured DJ Justin Amoroso spinning the tunes.
Participants enjoyed the pizza sponsored by Pizzeria Regina, snacks and soft drinks provided by NEAD.
Boston Police P.A.L., the Bruins and Heidi R all donated raffle items. NEAD purchased gift cards from Staples as additional raffle prizes for students to buy needed school supplies to help with their studies.
“NEAD supports the education of our young residents,†Romano said. “We know how important a good education is in the battle against drugs and alcohol abuse.â€
“All the children, their parents and NEAD Board members had a great time on a beautiful evening outside in our fantastic neighborhood,†Romano noted.
