Native American Mascots Not Disrespectful

State legislation that will prevent Massachusetts from using native American mascots is not a great idea.

Mascots are not meant to be a negative way of demeaning native Americans in any way, shape or form. They are simply a name for teams, not an insult, and have been used for many, many years. No disrespect is intended.

Legislators should pass a bill allowing cities and towns to make their own decision on this matter.

Common sense should be used when this bill comes up for a vote, if it does.
