North End streets pose some problems with fire apparatus to maneuver, not only because of weather, cars jumping sidewalks on one lane streets, double parking on main streets and probably the biggest obstacle is parking on corners.

The above mentioned impedes Fire Fighters from maneuvering their vehicles to get to a building to deal with a blaze.

Currently it’s difficult to park in the North End prompting people to park in these areas but doing so creates a public safety problem that could be responsible for major property damage or more importantly loss of life and injuries.

Motorist have an obligation to park responsibly especially in the North End where spaces are usually hard to find.

City ordinances prohibit parking in these places, including fire hydrants. Doing so is breaking the law as well.
