A Christmas morning fire caused heavy damage to a four-story building at 52 Hull St. Firefighters first arrived on the scene at 4:15 a.m. and immediatedly called for backup to battle the five-alarm blaze. No one was injuried as all tenants had left for the holiday.
The fire also resulted in 17 people being evacuated from adjoining buildings at 50 Hull Street and 33 Snow Hill St. Damage to the buildings is estimated to be at $4 million. The building at 52 Hull St. is being investigated as to the structural integrity. All occupants were able to stay with family and friends.
