North End Emergency Food Pantry Needs Donations

Founded in the late 1980s, the North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center’s (NE/WE NSC) food pantry has assisted nearly 100 unduplicated clients each month, primarily from the local neighborhood.

Users of the pantry are elderly single persons and couples, a clear majority of whom have lived in the North End for the past six or seven decades, according to the center, which helps them make friends and get the services that keep them going.

While the need for food assistance is up, apparently, donations are unfortunately down and not keeping pace according to the center. The demand for food is tremendous and participants need more help.

The pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5 pm. For details call 617-523-8125.
