All City Events Should Have Input from Residents

A comprehensive review of the city’s management of large-scale events has been set in place by Mayor Martin J. Walsh covering all the necessary things to do but it doesn’t mention community import that the Review is aware of.

Making sure that city agencies have the right training and tools to deal with large-scale events like concerts and races is definitely a necessity but working with neighborhoods that could be affected before the fact, is just as important.

The review, which is a terrific and helpful idea, will draw upon experts in all facets of the event production and management to place internal protocols and policies in place.

The many North End feasts is a great example of cooperation between the societies and residents. This same type of communication and cooperation should be applied all the time in every community.
