The holiday spirit was spread through the North End as the 44th annual North End Christmas Parade hosted by the North End Athletic Association (NEAA) made its way through the community.
Hundreds of families found their way to Puopolo Park on Commercial Street to see Santa Claus arrive by helicopter and lead the seasonal parade through the neighborhood accompanied by marching bands, TV characters and clowns. Free balloons were handed out at the park and along the parade route.
Now a solid tradition, the parade is an event that residents look forward to each holiday season.
Besides the NEAA several of the groups and agencies helped make the Christmas Parade the success it was, including the Nazzaro Community Center, North End Against Drugs (NEAD) and the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events.
District A-1 Boston Police Department, as usual did a good job of setting up the parade at the park and secured the entire route.
