The July 3 Boston Police North End Public Safety Committee monthly meeting was canceled because police had too much to do dealing with Fourth of July activities, North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council Public Safety Committee Chairperson David Marx has made numerous attempts to have the meeting rescheduled to another day in July, to no avail.
Usually, there is no Public Safety meeting held in August, and Marx felt the meeting should be conducted since September would be the month of the next meeting with police.
“The summertime brings its own particular host of public safety issue to our neighborhood. August meeting is never held means that we should somehow rescheduled this month’s (July) meeting,†Marx emailed the Police Community Service Unit.
“I was hoping that given the fact that we have a new Captain and Sergeant and the Captain has only been to one meeting, we need to have a meeting and fairly soon, referring to July,†Marx wrote.
Unless, police are too busy, the next Public Safety meeting will be held on Thursday, September 4 in the Nazzaro Community Center at 6:30pm.
