Charges Dropped Against North End Man for Alleged Sexual Assault

All charges against a 26-year-old North End man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 20 year old residence about a month ago on Unity Street have been dropped.

Ross Currier was arrested on March 10 based on a phone call to police from the female victim who claimed she saw the person that assaulted her playing basketball in Polcari Playground near Prince Street.

Police immediately responded and based on the victim who was sitting in a police vehicle, stating she was 95 percent sure Currier was the man that assaulted her in the doorway where she lived on February 15, police arrested the alleged assailant.

Currier pleaded innocent in Boston Municipal Court to charges of one count of assault and battery and one count of indecent assault and battery. He told the court he was with his girlfriend when the incident occurred. His alibi was confirmed by his fiancée.

The victim reportedly identified a different man in a Boston Police photo array before Currier was arrested and ordered by the court to stay away from the victim and to wear a GPS monitoring device.

At a court house press conference April 9, Currier and his lawyer told reporters that law enforcement should have gone public with the fact that Currier was innocent.

Currier thanked everyone that believed he was innocent and stood by him during his ordeal.

The investigation into the North End assault is ongoing.
