Possible Supermarket in North Station Area

All the hard work of the North End, West End, and Beacon Hill Supermarket Committee may have paid off as Boston Properties and Delaware North, the Boston Garden Project developers, have announced that a preliminary agreement with Star Market to operate a 45,000 square foot Shaw’s Market at the site.

The Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) has scheduled a hearing to consider approval of a 600 foot Boston Garden Project and the owner’s request for a 121 A tax relief.

The developers have made several visits to the North End to present their plans to both the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) and the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA).

Boston City Councilor Sal LaMattina, Representative Aaron Michlewitz and Senator Anthony Petruccelli have supported the Supermarket Committee quest to get some sort of affordable supermarket in the North End, West End and Beacon Hill area.
