The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) recently presented its “Good Neighbor” Award to the Nazzaro Community Center Youth Program for their outstanding efforts in cleaning up several parks and playgrounds.
The teams participated in the recent Boston SHINES Clean-Up project on the Friday before the clean-up. Close to forty youths were involved in cleaning the community.
The award was presented by Janet Gilardi on behalf of NEWRA which presents the award monthly to a resident, agency or business that consistently helps keep the North End clean.
“These youngsters spent several hours cleaning local parks and playgrounds,” Gilardi said. “They are well deserving of recognition for their neighborhood involvement.”
