Council Withdraws License Transfer Support

Support for a beer, wine and liqueurs license transfer request to the Salem Group LLC., which plans to open a cafe shop called Rigoletto at 115A Salem Street has been withdrawn by the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council due to conflicting information regarding the building Condo Association’s approval.

The group could not produce any letter of support and/or approval by the Condo Association. While a letter was sent electronically to the Council the night of the meeting, it was dated April 11, 2011 and approved a change to the exhaust system.

The Council had approved the proposed transfer by a 6-2 vote until they found out there was not a letter on file or presented to them stating the Condo Association had no problem with the transfer of the license.

Plans also called for an extensive menu change, hours of operation will be 10am to 12:30am seven days a week with a seating capacity for 40 customers and wait service.
