The Harborwalk at Long Wharf, Sargent’s Wharf and behind Langone Park seemed to take the worst of it with waves crashing over the sea walls.
Unlike other parts of the East Coast which was battered by Hurricane Sandy, the North End/Waterfront community was spared any real damage, injuries or reported deaths.
Other than a tree uprooted on Hanover Street and some heavy surf pounding on the Waterfront the neighborhood escaped the wrath of Sandy.
The Hanover Street tree incident was more of an attraction than damage.
Several residents could be seen along the Waterfront seawalls watching wave after wave crashing into and over the walls.
